Meg Messer

Recruiting Mentor

Originally from Tasmania, Meg pursued her academic and athletic career in the United States, where she spent six years as a Division I rower at the University of Minnesota. Competing at the highest collegiate level gave her first-hand experience of the dedication, resilience, and balance required to succeed as a student-athlete abroad.

After finishing her rowing career, Meg remained at Minnesota as a volunteer assistant coach, supporting the next generation of athletes. She also worked as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion intern within the athletics department, contributing to initiatives that built stronger, more inclusive sporting communities. These dual roles gave Meg unique insight into the student-athlete journey from multiple perspectives – athlete, coach, and administrator.

Passionate about the opportunities that sport can open, Meg is driven to help young athletes and their families navigate the US college system with confidence. She brings empathy, lived experience, and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting others as they chase both their academic and athletic dreams.

Outside of work, Meg loves spending time near the water, connecting with people from all walks of life, and finding ways to stay involved in sport. Having lived abroad, she appreciates the power of community and is excited to help other young athletes make the most of their own international experiences.
